Volunteering leads to generous donation

If you think the Bookworm charity shop in the high street is just for picking up a good read or a bargain book or two, think again. Manager Karen Brennan has created the busiest and probably the most hard-working volunteering hub in the town. Behind the unassuming wooden bay window with its neat book display, volunteers beaver away supporting all kinds of local good causes through various fundraising activities. We are the latest community group to benefit and are due to receive a cheque for £1,000. It will go a long way in supporting the town’s entry in the national Britain in Bloom competition.
